![]() The wall climbing also had tons of interesting new challenges associated with it and it actually felt good to control unlike Plague Knight. ![]() Specter Knight's relics are also the best of the characters', especially after they've been upgraded. I found Specter to be the most well balanced of the three, particularly because the green cloak provided an option to alleviate the instakill spikes and pits that caused me a lot of frustration in the other campaigns, especially in NG+. Specter of Torment > Shovel of Hope > Plague of Shadows Plague = most fun to control, but nothing else new.Įdit: haha it looks like nobody agrees with me on Plague's controls, oh well. It also felt short, without the other bonus stages like the hall of founders or the treasure stages. However, while he was still really fun to control, I still found him the least fun and satisfying control-wise. Scepter Knight had new music (even if most of it wasn't as good as the original), a very unique moveset, and stages that actually matched his moves. They clearly didn't fully cater to Plague's moveset outside of the new stage areas. I didn't like needing to switch bombs (my preferred moveset made hitting breakable blocks under me really hard), and I wish the stages were new, though. Plague Knight was really fun to control and move around with, though movement wasn't always as precise as I liked. I enjoyed his move sets and powers, and it was clear the game was thoughtfully made just for him. Shovel Knight was the easiest to get used to, control-wise. Really hard to order them, but I think I'll order them in their release order: I played and beat them all after buying the Switch, one after the other.
